Truth is, I started watching Gossip Girl in 1x07 and I shipped - God -Dan and Serena. I even fangirled about them. Oh, well. This changed with the hiatus post-1x13. Because I decided to watch 1x01 to 1x06 during it. I was completely sold to Serenate in their firstPilotscene (the way Nate looks at her. God.), but my DS love was still strong. 1x06 tested it. After seeing their handhold scene, I was cheering for Nate during the whole Mask Ball thing and I didn’t even realize how bad I wanted him to get his girl. But I still shipped DS. The show came back after the hiatus with 1x14. I loved that episode so much. Anyway, I was holding on to DS for dear life but when THIS SCENE HAPPENED, I gave up. She’s just so glad that he thinks Dan is a good guy. It’s her first friend that aknowledges that and supports it and she’s so happy. Like his approval meant something. And then she goes all Serena over him, trying to convince him to forgive Blair. And the way he just smiles and says nice try. AW. Talk about connection and friendship and basically just KNOWING each other so well. You gave me an opening, I couldn’t resist.Sorry while I go cry over the cuteness of my OTP.

There was something so beautiful about the gorgeous girl who seemingly had everything but was in fact so vulnerable and so helplessly in love with Nate. And then there was Nate, who put Serena on a pedastal and loved everything about her completely unpredictable personality inconsequentially.
